Recipe - Curry Turkey Burgers

I wanted to share this wonderful recipe with you for Curry Turkey burgers. I was always skeptical of ground turkey before I started eating healthy, but I must tell you - it is really good. This recipe is simple and I actually submitted it to SkinnyMs when I was asked to write my personal weight loss story, which was featured on their website. You can find the recipe on SkinnyMs or you can use the recipe that I post below. Have you had turkey burgers before? What was your take on them?

Curry Turkey Burgers
  • 1 1/3 pounds ground turkey breast, the average weight of 1 package
  • 1 egg
  • 2 Green Peppers, diced (optional)
  • A handful cilantro, chopped very fine, about 2 tablespoons, optional
  • Salt and Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons mild curry paste or a handful of curry powder
  • Drizzle extra-virgin olive oil
  • 5 crusty rolls, split
*Note – If you are doing a low-carb diet, instead of using the rolls or a bun, you can put the burger between two large lettuce leaves.
  • Lettuce
  • Sliced vine-ripe tomatoes
  • Mango chutney (preferred brands: Major Grey's or Patak's Mango Chutney)
Combine ingredients and form into 5 patties.
Brush or drizzle patties with extra-virgin olive oil. Grill patties 6 minutes on each side on indoor electric grill or pan fry for same amount of time in a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat.
Pile patties on split crusty rolls with lettuce, tomato, and chutney spread liberally on roll tops as a condiment.
